Old photo post cards of the building, the first is courtesy of the New Jersey Historical Society, 52 Park Pl., Newark NJ. and the second was one I bought which was post marked on Sept 10th, 1907

I would guess the first post card is older than 1907 as the 1907 card shows two sidewalks with steps added on the right across the grass.

The YMCA use ended in 1989 with the building being sold for $800,000 to a developer, the YMCA cited the building needed $3 Million in repairs and other work which included more stringent fire and other regulation changes. According to the articles dating to 1986 that they sent to me, the building was to be renovated into a condo but instead it was demolished.

Detail showing the cornice lions.

Lion cornice from the YMCA building 125 Main st, Orange N.J. The small photo below was taken on the building by the crew who removed it. He measures about 36" long and shipping weight was over 300 pounds, the lion itself weighs 197 pounds.
